Full Ingredient Breakdown
Mhe majority of cleaning wipes are based on a few formulas and rebranded to serve a particular market. Among them are: water-based formulas (baby wipes, facial wipes) that remove dirt and grime. More common are benzalkonium chloride formulas, which kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, but will irritate sensitive or eczema-prone skin upon contact. They are known as antibacterial and household disinfecting wipes and are intended only for use on solid surfaces. Finally, we have the harsh formulas such as bleach or alcohol wipes, which are effective at killing bacteria and viruses, but should never be used on your hands or skin.
We created Champion Wipes with the purpose of effectively cleaning your boxing gloves and other martial arts gear, without leaving any irritants or residue behind. The wipe is potent and thick enough to clean your gear in one wipe, yet gentle enough to clean your skin after a hard workout.
Active Ingredients in Champion Wipes
Tea Tree Oil. Our champion ingredient - Traditionally used to treat skin conditions and fungal infections, this naturally antibacterial ingredient is our Champion ingredient suitably formulated for the sweaty gym environment. A special shout out to our jiu-jitsu friends 😉
Witch Hazel Extract. Often seen in skincare products, this ingredient is astringent meaning it is anti-inflammatory, and soothes the skin. This will leave your skin feeling smoother after sweating as opposed to an irritating household wipe.
Aloe Vera. Our wipes contain Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, perhaps the most familiar of all of our ingredients. It is typical for facial cleansing wipes to contain this ingredient. This is a common soothing, moisturizing agent that does not have an unpleasant scent or residue after use.
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E). Often found together with Aloe Vera in skincare products, this ingredient provides additional soothing and conditioning benefits to the skin. The ingredient may be touted as having anti-aging or antioxidant properties by some cosmetic brands.
Citric Acid. While most people are familiar with this product in the context of food, this food derived ingredient has the acidity potent enough in high enough concentrations to act as a household cleaner or disinfectant. Additionally, citric acid serves as a preservative for the wipe, preventing bacteria buildup within the packaging.
Decyl glucoside. It acts as a natural surfactant (cleansing agent) that removes dirt and grime from your skin and boxing gloves. The ingredient is commonly found in sensitive shampoos and skin care products. It is a derivative of natural sugars.
Other Ingredients: purified water, propylene glycol (solvent), phenoxyethanol (preservative), cetylpyridinum chloride (antimicrobial preservative), polyaminopropyl biguanide (preservative/disinfectant). All remaining ingredients improve the cleaning properties of the wipes or serve as preservatives to prevent them from degrading.
